    Just another 240!


    Well I picked up this 240sx in Nov. 08' while I was in Afghanistan. When I bought it she already had the SR20DET and a 5 speed conversion. Heres a list of what was in the car when I got it.

    1997 240sx:
    SR20DET Black top @ 14psi
    T-28
    HKS SSQ Blow off valve
    Greddy front mount
    Apex-I SAFC II
    Walbro 255
    Battery relocated to trunk
    Megan Exhaust


    Here are a few pics before I got started. The only damage was the drivers side fender was dented and creased.

    I put an AEM EMS and the car tuned in early 2010 at Corr Performance.
    On a stock SR20DET with stock T28 on 14psi and 93 octaine
    she put down 274.0 hp and 283.3 Ft. Lb.

    In late 2010 the tragedy happened. I was on my way home that nite after it had rained, as I was getting on to I-10 and as I was merging someone had clipped the rear of the car causing me to spin across 2 lanes and scrape the wall, after srapping the wall the car went over a 2 foot median and then back on to I-10. The car that clipped me never stopped. I got out of the car to see what kind of damage it had done. I noticed that the body kit was damaged on the front and back, the rims were rashed and a few bent, there was a small hole in the oil pan, and the hard line to the power steering had a hole in it as well. I was able to get the car home without any more issues and parked it, the car set for a couple of weeks before we changed the oil pan. After replacing the oil pan I decided to check and make sure there was no engine damage, so after checking it out the car ran fine just needed a few more things fixed before getting it back on the road. I didn't have time to work on the car so I parked it in the garage where she sat.

    Well after letting the car sit for awhile after the wreck trying to decide what I was going to do with it I have finnaly decided. I started to do just the turbo swap and change the head bolts and head gasket. Well I got the head off and everything cleaned and ready to put back on, the head studs in place and the head gasket in place. By the time I got all that done I had to stop for a couple day so I could go back to work......Well during those couple days I came across some money.....So since I already had the head off I have decided to go ahead and build the motor so here is a list of parts I just bought to do the build....

    Well after getting the parts in I took the block to Womacks where the block was decked, bored, flexed, and cleaned. Womacks put the block together while it was at the shop.

    I took the head to a local shop and had 1mm over valves put in, new springs, retainers, guides, and seals installed with a valve job and small port and polish.

    That leaves me where I am now. The car is on hold till I can get the new solid lifters in and shimmed right. Once that is done I will be able to start putting everything back togther and get the car running.
