OK my ignition twisted off in my hand last Friday
when I tried to start the car. Drilled the cylinder
out but think I went to far. Looking at the column
I can tell someone has had it apart before.

I am thinking about installing a push button to start
it. How many Amps does this switch need to be rated
at? Will also be installing switches for Acc power and
the fuel pump.

Thanks for any input,
Mike

I'd say put the switch on a relay, that way the load is in the relay and not the switch itself.

they do make the push button start kits for the Mustangs.

Edit: maybe not, I couldn't find one for your year car.

You'll need a 40 - 60amp relay, a momentary switch for the start and a toggle switch for ignition (Key "ON").

Blinkerfluid got it right see how many amp fuse your starter has and there ya go get a wiring diagram to figure out all the key on things or just but an ignition colum I believe you can get the housing and switch separate or just do the push button but make sure you hide the key on switch so it don't get stolen lol
