having an overheating issue with an srt4, hose recently busted and now with the new hose it climbs above 240.
possibly air in the system? bad thermostat? any info appreciated

Anytime it it overheats that much, you need to replace that thermostat. Do that and make sure there is no air the system while you're at it.

Stat may be stuck it happened on the truck.

Pastey is right.
The spring in the thermostat loses its tension to open and close properly when subjected to extreme over heating.
Replace the thermostat, and bleed all the air out of the cooling system.
Also, use the correct water/coolant mixture for your car. (50/50 , 60/40 , etc)

it didnt extremely overheat. bled the valve on it the night i posted this, and its been working properly since, thanks for the help though

+1 Even if you just purchased it these thermostats are all too often faulty
