C6Z06 8.81@154mph at State Capital today [Archive]

Just found out bout this, a C6 ZO6 went 8.81 @ 154mph with a 1.32 60ft using the foot brake only, no trans brake or anything. Does anyone know anything more about this car?

With only using the foot brake, its gotta be an auto if that helps. Surprisingly I know they have a more then you think AUTO tranny ZO6s running around here.

It is a 10 G conversion for the auto. The car is also procharged. Maybe even has some gas on it.
Whats 10g's more now, lol? Id like to see that car run thou!

The car was using a 4L80E tranny, basically then same auto from an auto F body but much stronger. Im 99% sure this car is from a shop in NJ called Race Proven Motorsports. They said they will post the vid when they get back to there shop from Baton Rouge.

Damn, I was out there that afternoon after that happened but didn't see it. I was at Pinks at the beginning of the day, then at that track to run the street car shootout later that day. They closed the track down at around 7 though cause of how cold the track was. I was spinning an through third on street tires and through second on slicks.

After i asked if it was a stripped down car with only a race seat and cage

Also, its the first offical 8 sec C6 Z06!

nope its a stock interior race car with heated seats nav etc. weighs in at 3350 no cage.

made 964 rwhp with a 6 speed about 2 weeks ago and with auto we only got one run on the dyno before we packed up to leave and it was 821 on a soft tune unlocked thru the auto.

its great because we can drive to the gas station and back to the track and click off a 8.8

Might want to call it on yourself. The z06 since it was reintroduced back in 2001 has never come from the factory with an auto. The car was designed around having the 6 speed transmission and that is how it is retained today. The only way to have an auto is convert one, or take a normal C6 and make it look like one.

you're correct. the new z06's come with an OPTIONAL 4l65e transmission.

6 speed only according to chevrolet's website. I know Sigforty's bodystyle was 6spd only

Oh really????? Find me some proof of a STOCK AUTO ZO6. Ive just searched Chevys website and a few different Vette forums and cant find crap about z06 EVER being offered with a auto stock.

Dude my dad asked about an automatic for his C6 Z06 when he bought his, but they told him that there was no such option. There are no stock automatic GT500's or Vipers as well.

It was a normal C6 vette if it was an auto. They are really quick but not super fast by any means.

C6 != Z06

there's not an automatic z07
